Generation of Computer
Generation of Computer 1st to 5th and Their Features. The process of creating and making different devices on the computer and making them better is known as computer generation. The kind of computer you are using today in your works were not so from the beginning. It took a lot of time to give the look of today's PC. Earlier PCs were very large. It also had a lot of power consumption, and the ability to store it was very low. In earlier computers, the work was not so fast. Therefore, it was made faster and helpful by making changes in it, and many machines were changed many times in it. Whom we call PCr generation.
Generation of computer |
They are divided into five parts.
- First Generation Computer (1945-1955)
- Second Generation Computer (1957-1963)
- Third Generation Computer (1964-1971)
- Fourth Generation Computer (1972 -1989)
- Fifth Generation Computer (1989- Present Time)
1- First Generation Computer(1942 – 1955):-
In this generation, the Vacuum tube was used, due to which the size of the system was very large and the power consumption was also very high. These tubes used to produce too much heat. These PCs did not have an operating system, the programs running it was stored in the punchcard. The ability to store data was very limited. Machine language was used in these PCs.
2- Second Generation Computer (1957-1963):-
Transistor was invented in this generation, and now the transistor is used in place of the vacuum tube on the PC. Transistors were much smaller than the vacuum tube. The drum was used for storing data in this generation. Now the speed to calculate the PC was also a bit faster. Using transistors, the PC started producing less heat. The machine language COBOL and FORTRAN was used in this generation.
3- Third Generation PC(1964-1971):-
The Third Generation was further developed. Now the transistor was removed from the computer, instead of the transistor, the Integrated Circuit (IC) was used. In this generation, the size of the PC was reduced too. Now the speed of the computer has been increased from microseconds to nan seconds by the integrated circuit. The third generation has also developed high-level language Pascal and Basic.
4- Fourth Generation Computer (1967-1989):-
The Microprocessor was used in this generation. Now the speed of the PC has accelerated and now the problem of heat generation has ended. LAN and WAN networks were also developed in this generation. The Operating System also came in this generation. For the first time in the fourth generation, the user was introduced to the operating system. It used the operating system DOS (CMD). After some time it came to Microsoft's window, only multimedia was developed. At the same time, PC programming also developed. With this help, programming has become easier. But the development was still happening.
5- Fifth Generation PC (1989-Present Time):-
Things like Ultra Large-Scale Integration (ULSI) ULSI, optical disc were used in this generation, more data was being stored at least in the space. From which portable PCs, Desktop PCs, Tablets etc. have revolutionized this area. Internet, email, WWW develop You were introduced to new versions of Windows, in which the Windows XP cannot be forgotten. Development is still going on, artificial intelligence is being emphasized. For example, you will be watching Windows Cortana, a google assistant.
I’m not that much of a online reader to be honest but your
ReplyDeleteblogs really nice, keep it up! I'll go ahead and bookmark your site to come back later.
